He serves as the chairman of the board of directors of China Wantian Holdings, and also serves as the president and co-chairman of many business associations in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

As the second generation of Chinese businessmen in Singapore, Dr. Hooy Kok Wai insisted on returning to China in the 1990s and actively devoted himself to the development and construction of the motherland. In 1994, he co-founded Perfect (China) Co., Ltd. together with Malaysian Tan Sri Dato' Koo Yuen Kim JP and an accumulated tax contribution of around 40 billion dollars paid to China, which made a great contribution to the country's economy and society.
